  • Rocket-Hire: complete site redesign for an existing client. I worked extensively with the client to define the presentation and scope of his services. As usual, I applied modern best practices to his site, along with a custom WordPress publishing system and Google Custom Site Search.
  • San Francisco Human Services Agency: information architecture, semantic markup within the client’s existing non-semantic template, expanded use of CSS.
  • Stasi Martin, Realtor: complete site redesign and re-architecture for a San Francisco real estate professional.
  • Kelly Sutherlin McLeod Architects: site redesign in progress.
  • Just Art Pottery: complete redesign in progress, new information architecture, expanding use of CSS, semantic markup, search engine optimization, page load speed improvements.
  • The Gamble House Conservation Website: complete new sub-site in progress.

2008

  • A ‘New and Native’ Beauty: The Art and Craft of Greene & Greene: museum exhibit traveling to the Huntington Library, Smithsonian, and Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Complete site design, additional photography of museum objects.
  • The Lew Edwards Group: complete site overhaul for a political communications consultancy: re-branding, re-organization, re-design.
  • (Anonymous): complete new site for a company providing financial software services.
  • Just For You Cafe: developed an easily updatable “daily specials” page with RSS feed; e-mail list management and regular newsletter creation; restaurant photography.
  • Gray Brechin, Historical Geographer & Author: complete site redesign, photography.
  • California Health Advocates: Nearly 400 page site, regularly updated by yours truly. Highlights include a pure CSS layout, Section 508 accessible content, semantic HTML mark-up, a printer-friendly format via CSS, an RSS feed, Wordpress blog, a text resizer, and Google custom search.
  • Bayshore Sanitary District: complete new site and photography for a government agency.

  • Christopher Lucas Photography: advised this professional photographer on search engine optimization; consequently, his Google ranking rose from fourth page to the #2 position.
  • WhitMcLeod: total site redesign and e-commerce implementation.
  • Keehn On Art: complete new site for a radio show with arts and culture interviews.
  • Narus: complete CSS/XHTML site redesign.
  • Urban Bay Properties: Continuing my engagement begun in 2004: developed new content areas and interactive functions; developed an attractive HTML template for listing properties on CraigsList (still being used in 2009).

  • Urban Bay Properties: complete new database-driven dynamic website for a fast-growing San Francisco real estate broker. This was an exceptionally complex project that stretched over the next 4 years and included developing many new features and content areas on the site. My site design is still being used in late 2009.

    • assisted with migration of documents into a dynamic page publishing system.
  • GigaPlan: developed site for this vendor of web-based project management software.
  • FlightTime.com:
    • developed site for this online broker of chartered air flights, including extensive development of their highly complex air charter booking interface.
    • developed and administered user tests; wrote summation of results; developed "needed changes" guide.
    • collaborated extensively with their programmer to improve the information design and user experience (notably, this site has been extensively copied by competitors in the airline charter industry).

    • art directed this major online technology news site, leading a team of five designers and eight producers.
    • developed a massive network-wide site redesign, moving over twenty independent sites into a common design template while rebuilding the back-end delivery system in a new dynamic publishing system.
